You need to tell him how impressed you are with his improved...';whatever';. If you smile at him and start to talk to him again and tell him how much better he is now, maybe he will give you another chance. Everyone has some nostalgia for their ex. But remember - you dumped him, which I am sure he remembers, and you dumped him for a reason, which I think you had better think about because if it was a personality issue or maturity issue before...improved might not be good enough.
