It really depends on how old he is. He may look you in the eyes more in a different way (cause guys really don't like to do that). He may touch your shoulder, your hair, your hand. He might act cocky, but shy at the same time, as if he wants you to notice him but is embarassed when you do. He tries to do things for you, or pays more attention to what you want or like. If a guy is just friendly, he will talk and may even tell jokes but he isn't really focused on you and getting a reaction. Kind of hard to describe, you should know it when you see it.

It's just havin' fun; maybe it has sexual undertones, maybe not. It is done sometimes just for entertainment or to amuse oneself. It's a way to ';gage'; the other person's interest in you... do they respond or not to you? It's sending a signal that maybe you are interested in someone.
